Find energy candidates
Search the profiles of energy professionals who have chosen to be found by verified employers. Database access is available to approved employers and specialist agencies.
How candidate search works
Candidate search is for approved employers and recruitment agencies with active database access. Once your employer account is approved and access has been added, you can search the profiles of candidates who have opted in to being found.
Candidate profiles are hidden by default. Only people who have chosen to make their profile visible to verified employers appear in your results, so everyone you find has said they are willing to be contacted about relevant roles.
Filters built around energy hiring
You can narrow results using the details candidates add to their profiles:
- Job title – current or target role, such as wind turbine technician, electrical engineer or project manager.
- Skills – technical and commercial skills, from HV switching to contract management.
- Location – where the candidate lives or is willing to work.
- Sector – one or more of the ten energy sectors we cover.
- Qualifications – degrees, apprenticeships, professional registration and industry certificates.
- Experience – level of experience in the field.
- Availability – when the candidate could start.
- Employment preference – permanent, contract or temporary work.
Approaching candidates well
Candidates who opt in want to hear about relevant roles, not every vacancy you have. Before you get in touch, check that their location, availability and employment preference match the job. In your first message, say who you are, which role you have in mind, where it is based and what it pays. If you are an agency, make clear that you are recruiting on behalf of a client.
Contact details and CV downloads
Contact details and CVs are only visible to approved employers with database access. Every CV download is logged against your company, and candidates can see which companies have accessed their CV. That openness gives candidates confidence to stay visible, which keeps the database useful for everyone.
Your data protection responsibilities
When you download a CV or copy a candidate's details into your own systems, your organisation becomes responsible for that personal data under UK data protection law. In practice that means:
- use the data only to consider the candidate for genuine roles;
- keep it secure and limit access to people involved in recruitment;
- do not pass it to clients or third parties without the candidate's agreement;
- delete it when you no longer need it.
The UK data protection regulator, the Information Commission (still known as the ICO), publishes guidance for employers on recruitment records. Misuse of candidate data breaches our terms of use and can lead to access being withdrawn.
Getting access
Start by registering your company and completing your profile. Database access is a monthly package, ordered from our pricing page; during launch we confirm each order and send an invoice before access is switched on.
Frequently asked questions
Who can search the candidate database?
Only approved employers and recruitment agencies with an active database access package. Candidates who have not opted in to being visible do not appear in search results.
Will candidates know if I download their CV?
Yes. Every CV download is logged, and candidates can see which companies have accessed their CV. This is part of how we keep the database trustworthy for candidates.
Can I contact candidates who have not applied to my jobs?
Yes, if they have chosen to be visible to verified employers. Contact them about relevant roles only, explain who you are and how you found them, and respect their answer if they are not interested.
